Jared graduated from the University of Alabama in 2013 where he double majored in Political Science and History. After that he moved to Wake Forest, NC where graduated from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in December of 2015 with his Master of Divinity. He is currently a student at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO pursuing a PhD in Historical Theology and will also earn a ThM in the process.

Jared serves as the Lead Pastor North Shelby Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL. Prior to being called to NSBC in February of 2-23, Jared pastored in Dallas-Fort Worth. Jared speaks at D-Nows, camps, revivals, and other church related events. Jared is also a co-host of The Potluck Podcast, a podcast centered around Southern Baptist life and southern culture. Jared is also a contributor for different websites.

Jared married Kandace in June of 2014. They have two sons, Andrew Fuller Cornutt, whom they adopted from India in July of 2018, William Carey Cornutt born in 2019, and Charlotte Grace Cornutt born in October of 2022.  Jared loves to read, golf, spend time with Kandace, disc golf, and watch Alabama football.
